Charcuterie Chic

I have been missing the shop so much this week! I keep thinking of all the wonderful goodies that are waiting for a good home and can’t believe it’s been over a month since we were last all together! That’s why I want to give you a glimpse into Nell Hill’s by sharing one of my new favorite areas of the shop. Right before this craziness hit, we reset our Winter Wheat room (aka the “kitchen room”) with a new look we like to call Charcuterie Chic.

April Showers Bring May Day Flowers

With April more than halfway over (which I can’t believe!), I am starting to look forward to the joys that May brings us! I have had a little more time on my hands than I’m used to this early spring and am so excited to have an excuse (not that I truly need one) to get creative with May Day baskets.

Easter Brunch at Home

It seems that Easter is going to look a bit different for many of us this year. However, different doesn’t have to mean less festive! Nothing gets me out of the “isolation blues” like turning one of my rooms into a new scene! Last month when I was visiting Gail’s beautiful home in Lawrence, Kansas (check out last week’s blog post for more on that), I had just perused at all our cute spring goodies and I thought that her house would be the perfect place to set up an Easter Brunch.

Nell Hill’s Home: Lawrence

Before this turn of events, I had the pleasure of going to visit our long-time customer, Gail, and her home in nearby Lawrence, KS. I am always so excited to see a Nell Hill’s home and this one is breathtaking! It was just like its owners – warm and inviting. I had such a fantastic time speaking with Gail about her home and I am thrilled to be able to share it with you today!

Baby + Kids Collection

This past year I have had babies on the brain! Between raising my three-year-old (or “the threenager” as we like to call him), attending baby showers for what seems like all of my gal pals, and also fighting a slight case of baby fever, I have been looking for a way to incorporate this part of my life into our Nell Hill’s offerings. One of the many things I love about Mary Carol and her many chapters of the Nell Hill’s story is how she was able to breath her own life into the shop, and now I hope to do the same!

Spring Open House 2020 Recap

Bringing Warmth to a Modern House

As a home décor enthusiast and shop owner I am always looking for new and exciting challenges. It is truly amazing how much décor can change an entire home! I got my wish this October (which feels like just yesterday – how is it already almost 2020?!) when Nell Hill’s had the opportunity to work with local realtor Kristen Malfer to stage an ultra-modern home located in Leawood, Kansas.

The Season of Gifting

December is finally here! While we have been talking about the holidays for quite some time, it’s now setting in that there are only a few short weeks left until Christmas morning. With that comes the rush to get the perfect gifts for family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, party hostesses (wow I need to take a breath) and whoever else you run into during this festive season. Now to decide what to get them! Every year it gets harder and harder to play Santa for those I care about! Luckily, I have a few go-to items that are easy to pick out, won’t break the bank, and are universally loved by all!

Christmas First Look: Winter Whimsy

From Easter to Halloween to the Fourth of July, I firmly believe all holidays deserve their time in the spotlight. However, Christmas comes early at the shop! We have so many gorgeous looks to show and enjoy that it just makes sense to start now so we can share them all with you! The first look we put up in the shop this year is full of sparkles, sequins and Santas! With a great mix of classic plaid accents, bright and punchy hues, and nostalgic characters that are presented with a fun twist, this style is best described as Winter Whimsy.

Fall Fanfare Open House Recap

Another Fall Fanfare Open House is in the books! WOW! First off, what an incredible weekend. I was so humbled and thrilled to meet all of you who came out to say hi and celebrate the new season with us. This was my first open house as the steward of Nell Hill’s and the support you showed was truly amazing. This week I want to highlight my favorite parts and share the many, many photos we took!
