The Art of the Vignette

Vignettes help tell the story of your design, and are one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to change up the look and feel of a room without a significant investment in repainting or new furniture. Vignettes can introduce new colors and textures to a room, and are creative and fun ways for you to highlight some of your favorite pieces.
While I firmly believe that there is no “wrong” way to style a vignette, we’ve come up with a few tips and tricks to make it even easier for you to recreate this look in your own homes!

She, like many of us, felt uninspired by the abundance of sparkly red hearts and chubby little cupids floating around this time of year. I totally get it! So of course, we did what we do best – we turned up some of our favorite tunes and got to work designing a solution!

Happy 2019! The new year is often a time of fresh starts and new beginnings, and it just so happens that the beginning of 2019 kicks off some particularly exciting new beginnings for Mary Carol and myself! As you read in the last Nell Hill’s article, Mary Carol, who began Nell Hill’s as a gourmet food shop 37 years ago, sold the iconic Kansas City business to me, a Kansas City gal though and through. And while the deal is done and I’m officially the new steward of Nell Hill’s (read more on that here), the work is just getting started!
