I can’t believe we are only days away from 2020! This year has been a whirlwind of excitement and change for me, starting with becoming the new steward of Nell Hill’s! I have enjoyed writing these weekly blog posts and being able to connect with you over these fun topics. With one year under my belt, I wanted to look back at some of my favorite moments and posts from this year as we look forward to an exciting new year!
2019 saw the revival of wallpaper and I could not have loved it more! We started carrying the iconic Thibaut and Schumacher brands in the shop which has been such an exciting step. The patterns they offer are truly unbeatable. In fact, I am thinking of bringing this particular trend with me into 2020 as I wallpaper some closets in my home! 2. Amalfi Coast with Will Brown
I had the pleasure of working with local designer Will Brown this year to bring his Amalfi Coast adventure right here to the Nell Hill’s shop. We had such a good time finding accessories and art to recreate the magic of his vacation through color and design. He truly transformed part of our shop into an oasis! Things got wild in the shop with all of our pops of animal print! I think my favorite this year was the beautiful and versatile antelope print that we used on everything from tablecloths to bedding. As a textile fanatic it was delightful to be a part of bringing in these new patterns into the shop. Check them out by clicking HERE.
We had a ton of fun events this year, but bringing in Dana Gibson this Spring was one of my highlights! Her style is so bright and cheerful, it brings a refreshing new look to the shop. Being able to have her meet everyone was such a treat and the perfect way to launch having her items in the store. Click HERE to read all about it!
There were so many special Christmas looks in the store this year, and our visuals team pulled out all the stops to make show-stopping displays for our open house! Even though it was hard to pick a favorite, the Ski Lodge look has to be my number one choice. Not only did it have all the plaid I dream of every winter season, but the whimsical addition of woodland creatures really pushed it over the top! It’s also a great look to carry over the next few cozy winter months. Check it out HERE.
Thank you for following our blog journey this year! I would love to hear what some of your favorite 2019 moments were. Share them with me in the comments or on social media by using #nellhills. Until next year – happy decorating!
