We love finding inspiration in classic design elements, and this year, we’re excited to share our Cameo Christmas look with you. My fascination with cameos – jewelry that features relief carvings, most often of women, carved into shell or hardstone – and the dream of creating a collection around them sparked the idea for this enchanting holiday theme. When I stumbled upon some beautiful cameo ornaments, I knew we had to build an entire look around their timeless charm.
A Palette of Serenity and Sparkle
The Cameo Christmas room is a serene blend of creams, ivory, and neutrals, accented with soft blues, greens and pinks. These colors are beautifully complemented by touches of silver and gold, creating a classic soft look with a healthy dose of sparkle. The soft neutral accessories pop against the paint color of the room, Mulberry Drive from our Nell Hill’s Artisan Paint line.
Whimsical Elegance
This look is adorned with snow-kissed stems and trees, and glass-etched ornaments that add a delicate charm. The soft pinks and peaches, reminiscent of cameo tones, bring a gentle warmth to the space. The room exudes an elegant and whimsical feeling, with a modern twist that feels both elevated and enchanting.
Enchanting Trees and Garlands
The trees are the heart of our Cameo Christmas look, adorned with pearly shimmering ornaments in neutrals, blues, and greens. White frosted picks, gold ribbons, and crystal-like gems cascade from the branches, adding layers of texture and sparkle. Chandelier ornaments in the trees add an unexpected element of surprise and glamour. The main Christmas trees, placed on either side of the room, are set in large white planters atop natural and white geometric coffee tables—we love finding creative ways to set up our trees. The swags and garlands throughout the room mirror this elegance, with gold and blush leaf picks, and ribbons woven into the greenery. The mantle is a focal point, draped with a lush swag that includes white frosted and gold leaf picks, glimmering pinecones, and ribbons, complemented by sweet custom stockings (made by hand in our workroom!) with ruffles hanging gracefully.
Cozy and Luxurious Seating
The main seating area features a white sofa paired with two chairs on either side of the fireplace, anchored by a wood coffee table. Behind the sofa, a locally produced light blue grass cloth-wrapped console leads to a wood dining area, creating a seamless flow. The room is balanced with soft furnishings and dark sophisticated accents, ensuring a cozy yet luxurious feel. There are four separate seating areas on the exterior of the room, each with a pair of chairs, different art, buffets, cocktail tables, and side tables. While each area is unique, they all come together harmoniously, tied together by the main seating area.
Elegant Dining
The dining area is a vision of elegance with a wooden table and chairs set against light neutral, gold, and silver table settings. We’ve created two distinct looks for the table: one with green jars and another with glass and gold accents. Each place setting features layers of placemats, chargers, plates and stunning glassware. Candlesticks and candelabras add drama and sophistication to the table, with the centerpiece, a candelabra entwined with garlands and swags, tying the look together beautifully. Glass trees on the table in white, silver, and sparkly finishes add to the festive charm.
Final Touches
The room is complete with dramatic art pieces throughout the space. Gold, silver, and glass Christmas tree decorations and gold stags are thoughtfully placed on tables, buffets, and other surfaces, adding a touch of festive splendor to the entire room.
