Meet Our Designers: Featured Custom Bedding

If the best way to get to know someone is to look at their bedroom, then the best way to get to know our designers is to look at their bedding!  I get questions all the time about our talented design team and I want to introduce them to you! This year I’ve been tasking them to create their own custom bedding look for the shop and featuring them monthly.  It has been so fun to see their bedding go from initial idea conception to flat lay to creation. We are only two looks into this program and I can’t wait any longer to share the first two designs (and designers) with you!

From a young age, Jenna has had a love for design. If there is one thing that drives Jenna in her design solutions, it’s making sure her clients’ interiors are true reflections of their personalities. She loves using classic elements to meet a more transitional look to create an up to date yet timeless space for years to come. She is able to help her clients bring new life to an already beloved space and has a true knack for understanding her clients’ visions.

Jenna’s bedding creation is the perfect addition for any stunning primary bedroom. Her main inspiration fabric is the beautiful Rockbird Signature in soft blue. She loves the mix of botanicals and florals that this textile brings to a space. This fabric was used to introduce warm neutrals (perfect for updating touches of gray into the trendy greige color now on the scene) as well as soft blues and greens for calming and soothing accent colors perfect for relaxing. The back of this duvet features the classic New Traditional textile Knotford which brings a balanced femininity to the look (quick tip: this fabric is also fabulous for drapes!). With the addition of both neutral and colorful pillows, ruffles and a lovely animal print tape, this look is both timeless and trendy in the best ways.

Ellen’s philosophy for design is best stated by the Tony Stavish phrase “The key to great design is capturing the spirit of the client and the essence of the space.” This is how she approaches interior design and her clients’ projects. As a former classical dancer, she understands how space can best used with consideration to scale, proportion, and flow. She loves trends in neutral and muted colors and uses them as a suggestion for timeless living. Her love of architecture with orderly lines and sinuous arches has inspired her and given her a trained eye to look at the overall picture. She enjoys marrying old with new and creating a curated look so that each person’s home is uniquely their own.

Ellen’s bedding creation is the perfect pick for a youthful (in years or in spirit), stylish person or couple. This effortless and gender-neutral look can be used in a primary bedroom or breathe some life into a guest bedroom design. Her main inspiration fabric is the geometric, lightly embroidered Alton Pine textile. She loves the mix of botanicals and florals that these textiles bring to the look. This refreshing mix of fabrics provides a preppy but down to earth look that feels easy, like something you would find in a coastal summer house! Trendy without being too modern, the addition of fringe on the pillows brings a bit of whimsey to this beautiful bedding.
