This has been one hot and humid summer in the Midwest, and I could not be more ready to bundle up in my sweaters and sip my way through cider season. Besides loving the aesthetics, smells and colors of fall, I am excited to host family and friends (safely) at my home this holiday season. Fall represents to me the beginning of dinner party season.
Our shop transforms a bit before the weather does so it isn’t hard for me to pretend that we are already in the thick of pumpkin spice season (which I’ll appreciate a little extra this week as temperatures in Kansas City are still at nearly 100 degrees)! Allow me to offer you some reprieve from the sweltering heat and we can together imagine a world of cider donuts and blanket bundled bonfires as we explore the upcoming trends of fall.
Fall is in the air, and with it the crisp and spicy scents that I crave this time of year. I am candle-obsessed year-round, but I do consider Autumn to be the official beginning of “candle season”. Take a journey with me as I pair some of my favorite scents with the coziest fall corners of the shop.
Have I mentioned how excited I am that it’s “officially” plaid season? I could blame my obsession with plaid on Brandon’s Scottish heritage, or perhaps it’s my background and admiration for sewing, quilting and weaving where I see the true art that goes into creating the intriguing patterns. Regardless, I am a year-round lover of plaid – tartan, gingham, check, houndstooth, tattersall – I will take them all! The autumn and winter months are when this trendy but timeless textile gets the most attention. We have plaid featured all over the shop right now in celebration and I am so excited to show how we incorporate this beautiful pattern into our décor!
Bittersweet is the perfect way to add a touch of fall to your home. Here are inspiration and ideas for using this sweet fall vine to brighten your decor.
