Nutcrackers, Plaid & Peppermint: A Classic Christmas Look

The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is officially upon us! Though we begin setting up our holiday decor during the last days of summer, the Holiday Open House is what really makes it feel official for me. That, plus end of term parent-teacher conferences, holiday party invitations appearing in our mailbox, and Christmas decorations going up at home (yes, I’m very much a November 1st girlie and I’m not ashamed to say it)! ;)

November brings perhaps the busiest month here at the shop between special events, shopping groups, and our Holiday Hustle furniture sale (more on that later). I just adore the energy that this time of year brings with it – though it’s hard work behind the scenes, it all still feels like magic to me!

The magical look I have the pleasure of sharing with you today is one that, in the planning stages of holiday looks, we named “Drum” due to a statement piece drum that became the starting point for everything within it. Though perhaps not the most catchy name, it stuck (at least internally). From that single red and green piece, a collection of bright, holiday colors and classic motifs was born!

This look features the bright reds and greens we know and love around Christmastime, with a few dashes of black and white mixed in. Classic plaids serve as an element that mixes it all together, while whimsical sparkly picks keep it fun and joyful.

Grouped slender Christmas trees with full, gold-backed red velvet bows take center stage, with the bows bringing the personality and the rest of the trees remaining on the simpler side to keep the focus on the shoppable decor that surrounds them. Light up glass trees in red, green and gold, nutcrackers, Santa figurines and of course, ornaments galore deck out the shelves. Darling striped buckets and mailboxes for letters to Santa are dotted throughout, offering both decorative and functional options for holiday decor.

Guarding the area in the most friendly and welcoming way (hah!) are two very large nutcrackers, dressed up in their holiday finest.

I must not forget to mention the shelves of this pretty cabinet stuffed with red and white tabletop decor, offering a kiss of peppermint for any cheerful vignette. Though not shown here, this charming spot now also features glass snowmen in large and small which only add to the wintery feeling.

To switch gears just a little, I mentioned above the Holiday Hustle Sale – from November 1-15, save 20% on all in-stock furniture. Whether located in the shop or the warehouse, all of our in-stock furniture is 20% off through the 15th of November. It’s the perfect time to get that last piece you’ve been needing to figure out before holiday hosting. Does anyone else need the threat of guests coming over to complete a home project? 😉 We’re here to help! Pop in or send a message through social to get started. Until we see you – Happy Holiday Decorating!
