One of the many wonderful things about Christmas décor is that there are so many different looks with which to express yourself. One of our polished looks in the shop this year is one I have dubbed Elegant Earth. It is a beautiful balance of glamor and grit that brings to mind a frost covered forest. With both sparkle and serenity, this look is calm but chic elegance ready to elevate your home and bring a bit of splendor to your holiday season.
While candy cane red and vibrant green scream of holiday cheer, natural earth hues of green, brown, tan and white can bring just as much beauty into your home. I love decorating with matte green ornaments for a full and festive base that act as the main attraction or provide a wonderful canvas for an existing color scheme. While we went with a cool and icy traditional look complete with silver bells galore, a pop of color is always a welcome addition. This is truly a look you can make your own by adding a pop of your favorite festive color!
Texture is really the star of the show when it comes to Elegant Earth. Mixing organic textures of wood and pinecones with more glamorous elements like glittering metallic and a dash of industrial metal creates an interesting palette of surfaces for the eye to enjoy. The juxtaposition of these different elements gives us a tree that is loaded with interesting textures and depth.
Majestic stags and Old Man Winter join the party to make spirits bright without the bright colors. I knew I wanted to incorporate stags into this display because of the beautiful symbolism behind them. Stags are a symbol of grace and enlightenment, both of which I know I need around the busy holiday season! When I look at these creatures, I can’t help but think of a snowy woodland oasis full of serenity (which is a far cry from my house this time of year). Anytime a look can transport you to another scape is a win in my book.
I love the versatility of this stunning natural winter look. It is one of the many themes that can be easily transitioned from Thanksgiving to Christmas with little hassle and stress – which I think is something we all need during this busy time of year!
