I hope you’ve had a fabulous holiday season filled with lots of joy and people you love (and if that was not the case this year, I’m sending extra hugs your way)! We are jumping into this first Monday of 2025 with Spring-inspired glee! It may feel a little ironic, though, as most of us here in Kansas City are snowed in thanks to the weekend snowstorm. But that’s retail for you! Snow or not, what better way to chase away the Midwestern winter blues than with this fresh new collection, our first of the year. We’re thrilled to introduce you to our River Garden Collection!
The River Garden Collection is built around a stunning painterly toile focal fabric; Indigo Oasis, featuring scenic river views. This fabric, with its gorgeous combination of colors and subtly whimsical motifs, sets the tone for the entire collection. We have paired it with fabrics including Lydia Kiwi; a green ticking stripe, Canvas Chic Lime; a green spotted print, Safari Splendor; a leopard animal print, Athena Greek Key; a black and white geometric pattern, Tangled Bluebell; a blue and white geometric pattern, and Stateline Tusk: a camel and white small scale animal pattern.
A Symphony of Colors and Textures
While the fabric might sound like it skews organic or even tropical, it’s incredibly versatile and fits seamlessly into various interior styles. Blue and green are classic yet fresh, adaptable colors that can be both vibrant and neutral, making them perfect for any space. This versatility is why we chose this fabric, Indigo Oasis , as the cornerstone of the River Garden Collection.
We’ve showcased this collection in our Missouri Blue Stem room. In one side of the space we showcase a velvet sofa with geometric trim. It’s a clean style wrapped in a sophisticated fabric, paired with two wood-framed chairs upholstered in a textured green and yellow stripe fabric, with blue contrast welt. The combination is striking, especially against a neutral, natural fiber textured rug that enhances the contrast.
Lamps in this corner are some of my favorites – simple yet elegant, with blue and white bases that add a touch of geometric interest. The marble cocktail table with gold legs brings an elevated element to the seating area, while a small wood cocktail table adds warmth and (another) perfect spot for your drink.
Mixing Patterns and Styles
On the other side of the space, we demonstrate how the River Garden fabric collection can be paired with other patterns, fabrics, and textures to create a whole new look. A neutral, English arm sofa offers a more tailored and traditional look, contrasting with the more contemporary blue sofa in the other grouping. This sofa is adorned with black pillows featuring framed tape trim, emphasizing a more neutral-and-black palette.
Now, let’s talk about this ottoman – it’s a showstopper! The animal print adds warmth and a funky flair, complemented by a green key tape trim and offers additional storage space for extra blankets, off-season pillow shams, or all those toys that don’t have a better spot to live!
Wingback chairs upholstered with blue velvet on the inside and the River Garden fabric on the outback injects just enough pattern and color. Small white and blue side tables complete the look, adding a touch of charm.
One of the many things I love about this collection is its versatility. It can lean colorful or neutral, traditional or contemporary, tropical or classic. While I’ve highlighted the differences between the two seating areas, composed of fantastic, upholstered pieces, all the elements can be mixed and matched to create a completely new cohesive and stunning space.
Lovely Layers
Stepping back, the layers surrounding this gorgeous space come into view. Some of my favorite black cabinets (those finials are the perfect finishing touch) are paired against a wall, anchoring the space. Across the room, we feature a French-blue antique-inspired secretary or hub with a drop leaf desktop that can be folded down when not in use. Beyond gorgeous etageres in a soft white featuring a decorative top and gilded accents are bunched against another wall in the space and make for a wonderful spot to feature a collection of Chinoiserie pieces. A Lucite and gold bar cart adds a touch of glam and a sweet wood dining table for two rounds out the furniture in the space.
The artwork featured in this collection offers quite a range, from oversized botanicals to wild abstracts, often pulling out the greens or blues throughout the space. Accents in yellow, orange, and gold inject some energy into this otherwise serene space.
A Dreamy Bedroom Oasis
No collection is complete without a touch of bedroom elegance, and the River Garden Collection delivers just that. We’ve adorned this fabulous bed with pillows from the collection, featuring Indigo Oasis and Canvas Chic Ink. At the foot of the bed, two bolster pillows in Canvas Chic Ink are paired with green buffalo check ottomans that beautifully complement the collection’s fabrics. This harmonious blend of patterns and colors transforms the bed into a dreamy oasis, inviting you to relax and unwind in style.
We can’t wait for you to experience the River Garden Collection in person.
