What Our Designers Are Styling Right Now: Palettes, Pattern & Inspiration

Walk through our design studio on any given day and you’ll find tables covered in fabric swatches, rug and wallpaper samples, trims, finishes, and the beginnings of rooms that don’t exist yet, but soon will.

With our Upholstered Furniture Sale running through February 15th, it felt like the perfect moment to share a peek at the projects our designers are shaping right now – the palettes, patterns, and ideas that are inspiring their work this month.

Jenna: Feminine Layers & New Traditional Charm

Jenna is currently designing a space for a client who loves a layered, feminine aesthetic grounded in newtraditional pieces. The palette began with two expressive, organic patterns: a glazed cotton Hollyhock floral paired with a contrasting chinoiserie botanical wallpaper. Those two selections set the tone immediately - romantic, lively, and full of movement.

From there, Jenna started shaping the room through texture and silhouette. She pulled a raised velvet stripe for a wingbacked settee, a greenandcream woven block print with a stitched ground for woodtrimmed chairs, and a soft performance velvet for a chaise lounge that invites you to sink in.

A crisp cotton stripe will make a statement on a tufted ottoman with a pleated skirt, adding structure to the mix of patterns. Natural woven flooring, antiqued brass accents, touches of marble, and trims like mini bouillon fringe and beaded tape complete the story and create a room that feels collected, romantic, and beautifully balanced.

Liz: A Tailored Palette with a Hint of Whimsy

Liz has been imagining a small sitting room or den with a palette that blends tailored structure with a touch of whimsy — the kind of mix that feels both refined and imaginative. There’s a subtle nod to the layered, collected look she loves, with just a whisper of Asian-inspired patterning and a bit of that Ralph Lauren inspired polish that keeps everything feeling classic and grounded.

The anchor is Indigo Oasis, a Nell Hill’s fabric that blends grays and browns with effortless sophistication. From that grounding mix, Liz layered in pops of blue and green to bring movement, lightness, and a sense of playful contrast.

It’s the kind of room that feels collected over time: classic, a little adventurous, and endlessly inviting.

Taylor H.: Moody, Eclectic, and Full of Story

Taylor is working with a client whose style is shaped by a life of travel, collected personal objects, and a love of pieces that feel storied. Her aesthetic leans masculine, eclectic, and a little unexpected - the kind of style that mixes eras and influences without worrying about rules.

For this project, the goal is a room that feels layered and grounded rather than overly styled or trenddriven. Taylors palette reflects that intention: florals that skew dark and dramatic, animal prints that feel intentional rather than loud, and textures that do most of the talking.

The fabrics and finishes she pulled play off one another in a way that balances structure with softness, old with new, creating a room that’s less about matching and more about feeling. As Taylor says, watching a space come together around someone’s personality is always the best part of what she does - and this palette is a perfect example of that.
